چکیده
Background: Heterotopic ossification (HO), or the abnormal formation of bone in extra-skeletal tissue, is a well-known complication orthopedic trauma, tendon avulsions, chronic injuries, spinal cord and soft tissue damage from surgery. commonly develops at direct indirect head rectus femoris. Athletes are especially susceptible to microtearing acute avulsion, which may result HO. When HO setting concurrent intra-articular hip pathology, it be amendable arthroscopic excision, depending on its size location. Indications: that adjacent joint can affect range motion often source pain. Arthroscopic excision indicated when within about symptomatic location reached excised arthroscopically. Technique Description: In this technical note, we describe our method excise using initial surgery address femoroacetabular impingement syndrome (FAIS) perform dissection fragment. resection was then completed via an anterior open approach followed by reconstruction femoris origin with Achilles allograft. This prophylaxis protocol indomethacin 75 mg daily for 4 days, naproxen 500 2 times through postoperative day 30, although many other regimens exist prophylaxis. Results: Using arthroscopy removal time allows management concomitant pathology efficient precise undersurface Discussion/Conclusion: well-characterized damage, including previous surgery, microtear musculature. Oftentimes, Surgeons should consider combining appropriate, noting there advantages compared procedures. Open and Arthroscopic Surgical Treatment of Femoroacetabular Impingement
Femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) is a common cause of hip pain, and when indicated, can be successfully managed through open surgery or hip arthroscopy. The goal of this review is to describe the different approaches to the surgical treatment of FAI. We present the indications, surgical technique, rehabilitation, and complications associated with (1) open hip dislocation, (2) reverse periacet...

متن کاملArthroscopic treatment of femoroacetabular impingement.
The etiology of degenerative joint disease of the hip remains unsolved. A precursor for some patients, especially younger ones, may be hip impingement. Repetitive microtrauma at maximal flexion can cause chronic pain from the abutment at the femoral head-neck junction caused by an abnormal offset. Chronic impingement from an aspherical head can lead to degenerative labral tears and acetabular c...
متن کاملAvulsion of the direct head of rectus femoris following arthroscopic subspine impingement resection: a case report
Arthroscopic resection of the anterior inferior iliac spine (AIIS) for subspine impingement has become a relatively common procedure. The AIIS is the origin of the direct head of rectus femoris (dhRF). Previous studies have reported that removal of the contributing portion of the AIIS causing impingement is unlikely to weaken the attachment of the dhRF. The purpose of this article is to report ...
